Welcome to our Studio

On the first floor above Coopers Café Bar is the working studio of Tracy and Lucy, two textile artists based in the market town of Skipton, North Yorkshire. The studio is a dream come true for these textile loving friends who had often chatted about the idea of finding a place to work together.

In March 2013, after several weeks of renovating and decorating, the studio was finally ready for them to move into. Much of the furniture was rescued, borrowed, thrifted and upcycled and gives the room a cosy, relaxed feel. There is an abundance of colour and texture, with shelves and basktes full of yarn, stacks of neatly folded fabrics, glass jars and bowls full of buttons, trims and vintage haberdashery.

Tracy runs her creative textile business "Handmade Over Yonder" from the studio. She designs and produces a range of pieces made from the finest fabrics and yarns, machine pieced in small batches and exquisitely hand finished to a very high standard. Her work is sought after from buyers all over the world, and can be found for sale in her online shop.

Lucy is a crochet designer and writer, author of the popular creative lifestyle blog Attic24. She designs and writes crochet patterns, specialising in small decorative projects and home accessories that are full of vibrant colour. She publishes her patterns and turorials on her blog and has gained a very large following from crochet enthusiasts all over the world.
Lucy writes a monthly column for Simply Crochet magazine, and is one of the organisers of Yarndale, a local creative yarn festival which takes place in Skipton at the end of September.

Tracy and Lucy are both busy Mum's to young children and their time spent working at the studio is precious! They fit their creative work in amongst their family commitments and are both growing their respective businesses slowly and organically as time allows. It's a fun process, and both feel very lucky to have found this studio space to enable their creative dreams to flourish.

In October 2013, the studio began a new journey when Tracy and Lucy welcomed their first workshop participants. The response was overwhelmingly positive, and a very exciting new development for them both. As well as teaching their own workshops, they also invite guest tutors to provide a varied and inspiring mix of textile experiences.
New workshop dates will be added regularly as Tracy and Lucy respond to demand, so keep a look out here for further information.
